  • MY KIDS ARE MAKING ME CRAZY!

My kids act crazy, I'm in the process of getting them daycare but until then they're pretty much stuck with me. Its making us all insane. They scream and cry at the door when someone leaves and they can't go. No matter what I do, they won't go to sleep at a reasonable time EVEN if I lay there with them, all lights off. They'll play in the dark. My 1 year old throws her food off her highchair when she's done eating, my two older kids sneak off and do things like take apart a vacumm and not some chea[ bissel or dirt devil, a kirby. I've had to figure out how to put the wheels back on a kirby. I can't let them color because they 1.eat the crayons 2. try to draw on the table. I was excited when it started getting warm because they could play outside ALL day until they are tired. Well, they played outside all day and got tired, this doesn't mean they went to sleep. As a matter of fact they stayed up til about midnight that night. I show them as much attention as I can, still no luck.

I'm loosing it, the shower and college 2 days a week is the only time I get alone. I want to cry because the semester ends next week. Anyway they're gonna kill me!

What kinds of food are you feeding them? That can make a huge difference in their temperaments.

    Sorry things are being chaotic.

You need that super nanny chick.

sorry they are driving you nuts. I would make them laydown for "quite time" we use that in our house they do not have to sleep but they have to stay on there beds. Same with bed time. You may be putting them back into bed over and over but once they know you are for real they will learn. Also if you have to make them laydown in the front room away from the toys or remove the toys from there room till they get the hit it is NOT play time when it is time to laydown.

@TornadoChaser@momaroo - They barely eat junk. All they had today that was sweet was 2 small cookies a piece other than that they don't get any caffiene at all, I try to keep it healthy. They don't even drink alot of juice because it has sugar in it. I wish that was the problem, I'm really lost.

Lack of sleep can cause a vicious cycle as well. They get over tired so they are wired up then they can't sleep and get even more over tired, etc. Do you think they are sleeping enough at night and having an hour or so for downtime/nap during the day? I know it sounds a put counter productive but having some chill time may help with the excess energy. Even if it's just a cuddle pile on the couch for 20 minutes it may help.

@opster25@momaroo - thanks for the advice i'll try that...now, while my daughter is spinning in circles lol.

@TornadoChaser@momaroo - my two younger kids take naps and we usually have chill time through out the day, my oldest won't take a nap and for months now she's been staying up until 1 or 2 am even if shes forced to lay down with no toys, no tv, etc. Sometimes I even have to sit her in the livingroom with me because she tries to wake up the other 2. My mom says she needs something to challenge her mind so I bought flash cards and a couple other games, they were no help. I'm so confused. I do think you're right about her being over tired I just wonder how long she can be over tired without her body giving up and falling asleep

Geez. I think your kids are just balls of energy. At first I was thinking it was a food allergy (it can cause behavioral problems) but it's unlikely that all three of them have it. You mom is probably right about the challenging their minds. Getting puzzles, legos, imaginative style toys may help. At least it would keep them occupied so they aren't pulling the wheels of the vacuum.

@TornadoChaser@momaroo - Yes, that was the perfect name for them "Little Balls of energy" lol

@misskeshalabonte - o yes and while my olderst is 7 she still has to lay down for a hour. with the others. mine is spinning in circles at the moment to and it is 10:25. O i have stories for you LOL.. it get s better how old are yours. ?

@opster25@momaroo - mine are 4,2 and 1. lol, i have stories for you too. Hmm, let me think of one. One time, my oldest decides to wake up in the middle of the night, sneak to the kitchen and eat chocolate cake with her hands, I woke up and caught her while she was working on her last piece!

There's a reason we call ours "Tornadoes".

I once found a brand new bottle of sunscreen.... squirted all over the carpet in their room... in a rental house. Even professional cleaning didn't get that junk up.
